Hello dance lovers!

We came "Back to School!" Exciting! We got off to a wonderful start of the Autumn Term complete with many new faces, new classes, old favourites, and are regular classes are back at Arts Ed. Everything feels good and is balancing out nicely for this autumn.

I wanted to day hello and to welcome you all and to welcome our new dancing friends. I have a guest blog from Johanna Saarinen " Jo" to post next about the beautiful experiences that were had this summer on the Dance Intensive Week.

If you want to try something new this term please do not rule out the following:

Monday at 12.35pm- Gentle Yoga & Stretch- great for injury prevention, over well-being, perfect to take after Mark's Ballet class!
I can tell you that as a former dancer with a reconstructed knee, arthritic hips, and basic wear and tear pains finding Chihiro's method of teaching is like finding a pot of golden longevity! After her class my body is far less stiff, in far less discomfort, my mind is clear, my breathing expanded, and there is space inside of my body! It is like an internal massage, really. Please come along and try one this month on
23, 30 September and 7, 14 October.

Monday at 10.30am at Canada Waters with Beatrice
A fantastic, dynamic, challenging, fun, and inspiring Int/Adv Ballet Class. Please help to spread the news!

Tuesday at 12.35pm- Jo's fierce Barre Work-Out/ Barre Fitness
It is a very dynamic dance based work out which will focuses on strengthening, toning, balancing, and stretching using Jo’s expertise and the expansive dance studio and the ballet barres.

This is a fun, effective, and affordable way to tone, strengthen, lengthen out, get your heart rate up, work on balance and keep fit using dance and classical ballet barre techniques. Jo is a highly experienced former dancer and professional teacher with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, and is eager to share her knowledge and skills with you. Book in soon! You will not regret it. The class is suitable for all levels. All class material can be adapted by Jo for individual needs.

Wednesday at 10.15am- "ContempBallet" our own unique blend of Classical ballet and Contemporary Dance created and led by Mark Kelly utilising his experience as a professional dancer with both The Scottish Ballet and with Rambert Dance Company. Mark brings along his dance knowledge, great array of spot-on music, and his calm and encouraging approach for all to enjoy dancing/moving.
This has elements of a Classical Ballet Barre with additional release work of the torso, off centre balancing, centre foot work and whole body exercises plus large sweeping dance phrases using the large airy dance studio. It is fun and effective on its own but also brilliant to tag on to the Int/ Ballet afterwards. Your technique, awareness, reach of potential can expand greatly! Time to SOAR!

Wednesday at 7.45pm- Our Ballroom and Latin Dance classes will on 25th September with Anca due to work commitments she now has. We hope to welcome her back another time to and wish her all the best with her endeavors! Thanks, Anca!

In its place, Jo will be offering a fun new dance class Lyrical Jazz/ Contemporary class. A well structured class with a thorough warm up for the whole body, free flowing sequences and bits of Broadway shows and West End Musicals. Sure to be a new hit at Ballet4Life!

Because you asked for this! LOL! Donna Schoenherr - Founder of www.ballet4life.com® and of charity Move into Wellbeing®   Happy March 2021 all! The days are getting longer and Spring is not far off! Here we are nearly one year since the whole COVID-19 Pandemic hit our lives in London and also changed the world. This selfie below, I took the last day of our in-person classes on 19 March, 2020. I will never forget that day.    This past year, many of you have asked me to share more details about my life and my career. I am not someone who likes to blow one’s own horn , so I thought best to share a long version of my biography created for me but with my own satirical quips interspersed, and then just be open to conversations. I finally found and edited the long version of my CV/Biography. If you fancy a read (and maybe a giggle or two) please sit back with a cuppa or a glass of vino and enjoy. None of the names or facts have been changed and the craz...

Limericks, heels, dynamics, class and more! Ms Mary E is back with her next bubbly and bright blog for all ballet/ dance/theatre lovers! Hello again, thrill-seekers in tights!  I threw together a couple of limericks for you to start the week. There was an old dancer in Ealing Who had a peculiar feeling With one leg on the barre She pliéd too far And hit her head hard on the ceiling. Or: If you look up quite hard at the ceiling Of St Peter’s dance studio in Ealing There’s a tiny balloon That deflated too soon And got stuck there - it’s cute and appealing The first is clearly ridiculous (as limericks generally are) but the second is true. Have a look next time you do class at St Peter’s. Floor barre would give you the best view. Which limerick do you prefer? I need feedback from all you gorgeous dancers. In fact, I had an idea that I might open a Ballet4life themed limerick competition! Post your contributions in the comments se...
